Traditional Newfoundland Apple Crumble - Bonita's Kitchen

Today we will be making Apple Crumble, made with crab apples and a delicious crumble. See recipe below!
Ingredients:
Apples ( any type) ( cut, stem, and part peel )
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
Crumble Mixture:
1 1/2 Cups Sifted flour of choice
1 Cup brown sugar of sweetener of choice
1 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cup OatMeal
1 1/2 Tsp Allspice ( mixture of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves)
Method:
- Cut apples of choice in slices or chucks, remove stems and leave some peel on for colour, cut any dark spots off peel. Put sliced apples in a bowl with 1 tbsp of lemon juice until ready to use.
- Then lightly oil a glass casserole dish or pan of choice, put sliced apples at the bottom, pour lemon juice evenly over them.
- Then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over top of apples.
- In and bowl add all dry ingredients and butter then mix together by hand or food processor, to make crumbles.
- Sprinkle all crumble mixture over top and put in a pre-heated oven of 350º for 30-40 minutes or golden brown, depending on your oven.
