Ingredients:
-Apples; 4 Granny Smith & 4 Fuji Apples
-Lemon
-Butter
-Turbinado sugar
-Flour
-Cinnamon
-Oatmeal
-Regular sugar
Directions:
-Remove the skin of 8 apples and slice thinly
-Melt 1 cube of butter (you may not use it all)
-In mixing bowl:
---Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon, add all apple slices, 3 tablespoons flour, 1/4 turbinado sugar, sprinkle 1 teaspoon with cinnamon and toss together.
-In glass pie pan:
---Pour some butter on the bottom of glass pie pan. Just to liberally spread on the pan. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
---Pour apples into pie pan.
-Pie Crust:
---Using same mixing bowl: toss 1 cup of oatmeal, 1/4 sugar, 2 tablespoons flour cinnamon, butter.
---Pat on top of apples, bake for at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours at 400.
---While pie is cooking continue to check top for burning. If starting to burn on edges, cover with foil or foil circle for edges. This crumble really can’t go to long, the sugar caramelizes and is so good!
